Early 2009 we were invited to meet with community leaders of Kashali. The members voiced their desire to have a church, care point and pre-school for their orphans and vulnerable children. We encouraged them to take the initiative and start small. By June 2009 they were feeding about 20 children with food donated from their own community. Mission Providence started purchasing enough for them to provide 2 protein-rich meals twice weekly for about 50 children. In January 2010 a church was started where Stephen helped with preaching and in May 2011 their dream of a pre-school became a reality. The facilitator for the meals is Gcebile Matsebula and the meals are cooked by local grandmothers.
